Huffington post, a US based online news site will be launching its Indian edition in the coming months, most probably in May 2014. Initially the edition will start with the English version and will be extended to other regional languages later.
The Indian edition will focus mainly on four areas viz. Politics, Lifestyle & Entertainment, Business and Technology.
The online media site expand internationally with the local partners only in order to ease the business set up process due to domestic legislations. However, it has not yet disclosed the names of its Indian partners.
As per the company’s Video Streaming Network President Roy Sekoff, its strategy for all offices across the world has been that it never sends people to outside bureaus and it is the local journalists from that area who work for it.
Its international editions currently include Canada, UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain and Japan, with around 95, 000 unique visitors every month.
