After China’s Gionee launched its flagship product ELIFE E7 in India last month, another Chinese mobile handset maker, Oppo, is all set to make its foray into the Indian market, on the upcoming 30th January. The Bollywood celebrities Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor will be the Brand ambassadors of the product in the country.
The announcement came in after the recent launch of its Phablet N1 in US and Europe, where the initial prices were kept at USD 599 and Euro 449 respectively.
Although, the invitation below does not mention anything about the device to be launched. But, as per the speculations, Oppo will enter with N1 only in the Indian mobile segment. Translating the similar price to India, it will come around INR 37, 200.
Oppo N1 is known for its 13 MP rotatable camera, which can be rotated by 206 degrees. It comes with a 5.9-inch 1080p IPS display, and runs on a 1.7GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage.
At present, India is one of the largest smartphones market in the world. Currently, the market is majorly dominated by Samsung, Apple and Nokia. However, with brands like Gionee, Oppo entering into the Indian market, can we assume it to be a beginning of a new era of competition?
