Mumbai based Sellmojo which allows merchants to set up online stores on Facebook has announced the launch of a Marketplace, which collates items from individual SellMojo merchants and lists them under one online shop.
The idea is to give its customers “one more avenue where they can display their products and increase sales”.
SellMojo, with its payment gateway integration, dashboard management and other services allow merchants to open a facebook store without any technical expertise. All that a Merchant is required, is to pay a fees to SellMojo and enjoy the presence on Facebook.
With SellMojo now offering another platform for its customers to increase more traffic and drive sales, the move will provide an added benefit for the company itself, as it can now transform itself into an e-commerce destination for people.
Recently Indian eCommerce market has witnessed the entry of several Do-It-Yourself (DIY) marketplaces which allow small merchants to have their own e-commerce with economically cheaper options like monthly rental or a revenue sharing basis on pay-as-you-go model. For small scale, independent retailers having low budgets, its difficult to make huge investments to make their entry in the online retail space – these DIY services claim to solve that problem.
