Rocket Internet backed Printvenue launches design marketplace for rising artists

print-venue (1)A few months back, we saw Amazon launching an art marketplace, giving a platform to artists worldwide to showcase their artwork online and approach masses. On a similar front, Rocket Internet backed and New Delhi based startup has launched its own design marketplace, to give art hobbyists and upcoming designers a place to get visibility for their talent. is an year old startup which provides an online portal for customized printing and personalized gifting facilities for a number of product categories. This includes office stationery, business cards, letterheads, cardholder and other accessories like wristbands, keychains, wallets, laptop skins etc.

The users can upload their designs on for free and choose a variety of products for which the design will be suitable. Once the design is sold, the user will get an immediate 10% royalty in their account. They can share their design via social networks.

As per Saurabh Kochhar, Printvenue founder, this kind of model is currently non-existent in India. “The upcoming artists rather than earning money, first require a forum where they can showcase their creatives and get recognition from people for their work. With more than 250+ products and a traction of over a million visitors per month on the site, can thus help them to take their talent forward”, said Saurabh.

Talking about Printvenue’s current growth status, he said that the company is seeing a M-o-M growth of 20% with a ratio of 3:2 for new vs returning consumers.

The marketplace, since its launch, has got around 150 designer registrations with each submitting around 4 to 5 designs on an average. In future, the company is also planning to bring in features like putting up designer profiles on the site, also allowing them to fix price for their designs.
