Zomato expands its global presence in five more cities
Zomato, a leading restaurant discovery service have expanded its global presence in five new cities – Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and Porto Alegre in Brazil; and Hamilton, in New Zealand. Apart from these, the portal currently has listing over 180,000 restaurants in 35 cities across 11 countries.
Till date,the company has raised over USD 53 Mn and is backed by investors like Sequoia Capital and Info Edge Ltd. “We plan to further our expansion in Brazil over the next six months, and also have 22 new countries in the pipeline for the next two years, across Europe, Asia and the Americas,” Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato said.
Housing.com launches PG section, with focus on “Female Only” PG inventory
Housing.com, adding to its list of innovations have recently added another section which let its users search for PG’s on the website The move came in after a recent analysis by the portal showed that a large number of people were applying for the low range accommodations that includes mainly PG’s by youngsters. At present, the listings are available for three cities viz. Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
The Nexus backed real estate portal has recently also added new features like Agents Map, land classified section for farmers, and a child friendliness index to ensure which neighbourhoods are good for children.
Vodafone launches its music streaming service in India
Vodafone Music, a platform developed by Hungama Digital Media Entertainment, offers features like audio and video streaming and downloads, and an advanced search option. According to Vodafone India chief commercial officer Vivek Mathur, the service offers a large selection of music genres with incredible personalization. “This would enable our entire customer base to enjoy and discover new music for free at the touch of a button,” he added.
As per the reports, the advance version of the service will also include features like cloud sync, radio, playlist sharing, predictive search. The app is currently available on Google Play store.
