txtWeb, A text-based app platform that allows users to discover and consume internet on mobile phones without an active internet connection has entered into a license and distribution agreement to make available a range of apps via the txtWeb app platform on Karbonn phones.
The agreement will allow Karbonn phone users to access information ranging from academic content, social networking, sports, breaking news, financial tools, games and more via txtWeb. The service can be accessed via SMS at the cost of 50 paise per query or Rs 1 per day for unlimited queries on subscription. The service will come embedded in Karbonn phones, with no installation required by users.

Launched in 2011 by Intuit, txtWeb provides universal access to information to anyone with any mobile phone on any carrier network with or without internet connectivity. Currently, txtWeb is being used all over India across 1000 cities and towns. It has over 11 million mobile users using one or more of the 3500 monthly active apps built by developers and businesses across India.
