ITChintu, an online marketplace for working professionals is a spoof on the life of IT Professionals which works as a one stop portal for all the needs/problems faced by an IT Professionals.

Designed to “serve the day to day problems faced by IT professionals” the portal offers a range of services like finding a new accommodation to rent a house; buying a bike to selling an old phone; getting a car pooled to office to finding an IT job. If that’s not all, one can even use ITChintu to find a soulmate, using its matrimonial service.

“Right now there is no such portal in India which caters to niche customer base of IT Professionals. We are the only such portal which has all our utilities designed for this huge untapped customer base.” claims Deependra Bundela founder at ITChintu. But to us it doesn’t make any sense why the portal calls itself a platform for IT professionals – given that its open for anyone to join and use.

Moving further, it works as a social media network where users can engage with others and find solution to their problems. It offers an impressive user interface design – which however seems a bit inspired by the  photo sharing site ‘pinterest’. On left side of the window one can see its different services like Matrimonial, Jobs, Home & Lifestyle, Carpool, Fashion Store etc. clicking on which takes the user to what he/she is looking for.

In order to use the portal, one is required to register. From there on, users looking forward to use marketplace or fashion store can simply post an ad or buy fashion products. To use matrimonial services, one can search for matching profiles but to contact them they need to register separately on IT matrimonial and send request to access their contact details.

Went live from June 2013, the startup seems to be performing fairly good in terms of gaining user traffic. In just a few months time it has managed to get over 11000 registered active users, uploading around 9000 ads.

Currently having a team of 6, this Pune based startup has so far survived bootstrapped. But after seeing the “great response from IT professionals” as claims the startup – they are now looking for investors to accelerate the growth.

Moreover, if you unfortunately lose your account password, the website doesn’t allow you to reset it. Oh right, its for IT professionals they will find out a way.
