Gionee launched its flagship product ELIFE E7 in India yesterday, with an aim to become the number one Indian phone by 2015.
We had an interaction with Arvind Vohra, Head-India, Gionee Smartphones, at the launch. Upon asking, whether if the company is competing with Indian mobile developers like Micromax, he said “We are competing only with manufactures and not traders”.

Gionee arranged a Grand Prix at the Buddha International Circuit for the launch with the slogan-Race for the No.1 position.
The phone has been designed specifically to bring the technology of digital cameras to smartphones.
ELIFE E7 is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, has 2GB of RAM (the 32GB storage variant has 3GB of RAM) and Adreno 330 GP. It features a 5.5 Inch FHD (JDI) display, with third generation Gorilla glass.
A professional image sensor has been installed for both-16 megapixel rear camera and 8 megapixel front camera. The phone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with its own Amigo 2.0 UI. The phone sports three microphones for enhanced noise cancellation.
Amigo enables users to choose from five convenient ways to take photos which include Voice control, normal, touch, smile and v-gesture. The version 2.0 also introduced the sensor hub technology which is similar to Google’s Google Now.
Also, Elife E7’s touchscreen is responsive to gloves, wet hands, and keys to ensure photographers can take pictures in any weather and any situations. Additionally it features ‘double tap to wake up’ and voice control features and supports both 3G and 4G.

The smartphone will be available in India at a price of INR 22,999/- for the 16GB variant and INR 26,999/- for the 32GB one. Also, a mini version, Elife E7 mini, has been launched at a price of INR 18,999. The phone will be available in black, white, blue, pink, green, yellow, and orange colour options.
