Flipkart, which launched its Payment gateway services in July this year, has launched a customer facing version of it. It will allow users to store their card information just once and use it on Flipkart and other partnered websites.
The idea is to let consumers have a faster and smoother online payments by allowing customers have transactions across stores without entering their card information each time. The company targets 1 million customer signups by June 2014.
Flipkart, which announced its target to partner with some 2000 merchants by March 2014, has added several well known merchants using PayZippy’s payment gateway. These include MakeMyTrip, Zansaar, Lenskart and Yepme, among others. “The service will soon scale up and will be available across most large online merchants in India,” announced the company.
As per the agreement these merchants will provide their initial customers who use PayZippy’s payment gateway, several offers including cash backs, discounts on transactions and gift vouchers on the merchant sites.
“We are constantly focusing on ways to make the online experience a better one for the customer. With PayZippy we have actually reduced the time taken for making online payments by 50%. We are expecting at least 150,000 customers to sign up for this service within the first month and our target is to get 1 million customers by next June.” said Mekin Maheswari, Head, Payments and Digital Media, Flipkart.com
Launched earlier this year, PayZippy allows card payments for domestic merchant websites and mobile sites.
