Bharti Airtel, in its recent move has added Shopify to its list of SaaS services being provided on its cloud enabled platform. The step was taken in order to help SMEs and SOHO come online, as according to the study reports, till date only 5% of the SME’s have been able to expand their business online.
Shopify, is an eCommerce platform which provides the new eCommerce entrants easy tools to create and manage their online store. As a part of the deal, the SME customers can now get Airtel Internet solutions such as DSL, ILP, 3G and 4G bundled with Shopify’s eCommerce solutions.
As reported, this collaboration of services will lead to reduced website load time along with wider network availability. Also, Airtel solutions will help SME’s/SOHO to reach masses via social media integration, management apps and email marketing. Thus, helping the customers to build a hassle free shopping experience at Shopify.
The other cloud based services offered by Airtel include ERP, Tally, Accounting packages, CRM management etc.
Founded in 2006, Shopify officially launched its service in Indian market in June 2013, through a partnership with SingTel, the company which owns nearly 32% of Airtel.
Previously, GetitBazaar, an eCommerce marketplace had also made a tie up with Shopify in order to provide SMEs associated with it, an opportunity to have an independent eCommerce website.
