TimesJobs partners with FLIP to launch e-certification programs in BFSI sector, a key job portal in India and a part of Times of India group has recently launched an e-learning certification programme in the fast growing Banking and Financial Services (BFSI) sector, in association with Finitiatives Learning India Pvt. Ltd. (FLIP).  The program will be launched with the career services section – StepAhead, which is working with the mission of ‘improving the employability of candidates and helping them in their career growth’ (albeit, within banking and finance domain).

FLIP job oriented programs are suitable for graduates, MBAs, CAs and working professionals and the certifications are endorsed by leading banks and FIs like , Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, IIFL, Kotak Mahindra Bank, etc.

Some of the career opportunities in BFSI that certified job seekers could look at include – Retail Banking Relationship Manager, Branch Operations Manager, Credit Analyst, Equity Analyst, Institutional Sales – MF & Equities, Treasury Analyst, Equity Dealer, Wealth Advisor etc.

The move has taken place in order to bridge the gap between requirement and availability of skilled manpower in the Banking and Financial Services (BFSI) sector and to take advantage of the upcoming opportunities. With new banking licenses being issued by the Government, it is believed that in the coming years, there is going to be a huge demand for trained manpower, across the country.

“There is high demand and low supply of trained manpower with banks warring for top talent –  because core banking skills are not taught in most colleges or business schools. So employers are forced to make substantial investments in training to make their new joinees ‘banking-ready’. With this program, we will help create a skilled and certified pool of industry-ready banking professionals”, said Vivek Madhukar, COO, TBSL.

These online banking & finance courses will be available exclusively, and will range across the entire spectrum of Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, International Banking, Treasury & Capital Markets, etc.

The courses are Self-Learning in nature and are conducted online, with the final certification tests being conducted regularly at specific centers across the country. In order to educate aspirants about the certification programs and career opportunities in the banking sector, regular webinars and counseling sessions are being conducted.

According to Anjali Mullatti, Managing Director & CEO, FLIP, there is a huge database of jobseekers with TimesJobs and scalable, high quality training and testing across roles in Banking & Finance are available with Flip. Thus, the combination will enable a steady supply of trained and tested candidates to the Industry, across locations, thereby changing the way how hiring and induction is done.

In just 46 months since launch, 19,000+ users have taken FLIP’s programs. Its unique ‘Smart Banker’ program includes online simulator based training on Finacle from Infosys – the software used by most of the banks in India.

StepAhead, on the other hand, is a premium career service offering by TimesJobs. Other offerings under StepAhead include Resume Services, Resume Highlighter, Profile Verification, Career Astrology and Behavioural Assessment. Conceived and launched in 2004, currently has a candidate database of more than 20 million registered jobseekers across levels and functions who clock-in over 40 million page views a month.
