After Snapdeal, Flipkart also gets its iOS app

After launching its native Android app in September this year, online retailer Flipkart has now rolled out its iOS app, announcement comes via Tweet. The company is expected to launch its Windows phone app by February next year.

Flipkart already has an Android, iOS and Windows 8 app for eBooks.

The move is simply to build a strong presence on mobile.

The iOS app is quite a similar to its Android app. Users can easily search for products, categories and brands and can even narrow down search via sort and the filter option. There is also a zoom feature to view an enlarged product image easily. The customers’ reviews and the track order features are also there.

Also, users can look into the recently browsed products and their details even when network is not available -the Android app also has this feature.

To point out, the Wishlist feature is missing for now and as per company the Wishlist feature will be rolled out in a month or two.

Even the features like barcodes and voice based search are also missing in the iOS app, though these features are already available on its Android app.

Users can access their existing Flipkart account and saved details.

Recently Snapdeal too had launched its iOS app and as per the company the iOS has emerged as the second most popular operating system after Android, accounting for 12% of the mobile traffic on in past 6 months.
