Nexus backed introduces Agents Map

HousingCoInNexus backed real estate portal has recently added a new feature called Agents Map on the website that will help property seekers find an agent easily.

“While real estate has moved online, it is not enough to simply find agent’s listings on the numerous portals. It should be easy for people to find the right agent, and it should be easy for them to approach him for help.” In a move to make this possible for people, has launched this latest feature called Agents Map.

How does it work?

Instead of a boring, uninformative list of agents in a city, Housing has mapped agents by the areas they work in.

Usually if people are searching for an agent, they’d have to go by referrals or a raw list of agents who work in that particular city. But it often happens that people might end up with someone who works on the other side of the city.

The Agents Map will allow people to type in the address of their prospective home and pulls up a list of agents who work in that particular area.

Whenever a user enters an address, a list of agents in that area pops up. The agents appear as mini icons on a map and clicking on these icons allows one to see the very basic contact details of the agents working there.

“The Agents Map essentially allows you to figure out who your nearest agent is. The nearer the agent is, the more likely it is that they’ll be well informed about the area. And everyone knows that the best kind of agent is a well informed one,” says the company. has provided 4 types of search, these include:

  • Locality Search: A general search for agents in a large area like Bandra

  • Sub-locality Search: A more specific search for a smaller area like Bandra West.

  • Building Search: A search for users who have already made their choice of a residential society or a building.

  • Landmark Search: A search according to the user’s current location.

Recently, had also added a ‘price heat map’ feature which allows users to check prices of localities across a city on a map and also introduced a classified segment feature for farmers and villagers.

Last month, the company had also bought the domain name and a premium number for USD 1 Mn.

Launched in 2012 by a group of around 12 IIT Mumbai Alumni, Housing is a map based real estate search portal. It has raised funding three times this year including a USD 2.5 Mn Series A funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners.
