Mumbai based online food ordering portal DeliveryChef has raised an undisclosed amount in angel funding led by a US based Indian investor.
DeliveryChef was founded in 2010 by Ankita Tandon and Aditi Talreja with service initially in Mumbai and Pune, now the company has expanded its operations to Bangalore, Thane, Delhi & NCR.
DeliveryChef.in allows users to order food online from local restaurants which can be delivered to their desired location or users can even opt for an in-store pick up.
The process of ordering food on DeliveryChef is similar to other food ordering platforms such as JustEat or FoodPanda. Users need to enter their location, based on which the website provides them with the list of restaurants where they can place their order. The food spot receives the order details and the food is then delivered. The site offers both cash on delivery and online modes of payment.
The company lists over 600 restaurants including McDonalds, Smokin Joe’s, Fasso’s, Mad over Donuts, Subway, Rajdhani and many more.
It plans to use the latest round of funding for scaling up technology and for team expansion.
