Snapdeal, an online marketplace in India which has launched its mobile shopping application for the iPhone users, announced that mobile phones are a significant platform for the company – as 30% of all orders on Snapdeal come from mobile phones.
Based on the total sales and traffic on Snapdeal.com over the last six months, iOS has emerged as the second most popular operating system after Android, accounting for 12% of the mobile traffic on Snapdeal.
“The number of Apple device users in India is growing rapidly and with the launch of our new iOS app, we will aim at being closer and even more accessible to our customers. Our shopping application has a 5/5 rating in the Apple App Store and we will continue to build excellent features to deliver a best in class mobile shopping experience” says Ankit Khanna, Vice President, Product Management.
The company already has its other mobile applications available in the market to target Android and Windows users and boost its sales through the medium. With its Apple iOS app, Snapdeal is trying to further extend its leadership in the mobile shopping/ mCommerce domain.
Other mobile shopping apps available to users in India are from eBay India, NGPay, Naaptol.
