Mumbai Angels has recently invested in a career assessment company Skillwiz and an online edu-tainment startup Mangosense, says ET. Amount of funding has been left undisclosed by the company.
SkillWiz is an education technology company, along-with Mumbai Angels, other angel investors from India and Singapore have also participated in the funding round.
The company plans to use the funds raised, towards Product Development and Sales and team expansion.
By using functional skill assessments, analytics and data-driven learning techniques, SkillWiz helps individuals to benchmark themselves against peers and industry needs and take smarter career decisions. The key areas in which SkillWiz focuses on includes functional skills and competencies i.e. finance, marketing, cales, HR, supply chain, aptitude and but it doesn’t focuses on the behavioral skills.
“The analytical approach of assessing gaps in functional skills of graduates and providing training will improve the quality of young professionals,” said Ashpi Gupta, associate vice president at Mumbai Angels.
Its revenues comes from r Colleges, where college students has signed up in bulk, to use its product.
SkillWiz was co-founded by Kunal Varma and Anuj Kacker.
Along-With SkillWiz Mumbai Angels has also made a investment in Pune based MangoSense Private Limited, which through its products helps to create, share and learn from stories using simple tools for mobile and web.
MangoSense was also among the IIM-A’s Startup Boot Camp Finalist in 2012. Its products include MangoReader, MangoReach and MangoSocial, through which users can create a social, fun and engaging environment for readers to read books, share with friends.
It was founded by Jagdish Repaswal, he is a B.E. computer science from Army Institute of Technology Pune and has worked in L&T Infotech and Oracle India.
