HTC launches One Max with a fingerprint sensor and 5.9 inch display

htc (1)HTC One Max is the latest member in HTC’s One series of phones. However with a huge 5.9 inch screen it is actually a phablet. It has a fingerprint sensor and a 4 MP camera like its predecessor HTC One.

Max has an uncanny similarity in design with HTC One Mini, which was launched in July this year and is now available in India too. But it is much bigger in size and, as mentioned above, has a rear fingerprint scanner. It unlocks the phone as well as launches the favorite apps with a single finger swipe.

It has a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor 1.7GHz quad-core CPU like HTC One. And a massive 3300 mAh battery to serve the power requirements of such a processor and the phone’s large display screen. In addition to that HTC is prepping a Power Flip Case that brings an additional 1,200 mAh of battery juice.

Along with Android OS v4.3, it has HTC’s latest UI Sense 5.5. The company is also showing off HTC BlinkFeed, which gives news recommendations across social networks to the users, based on their likes, for putting forward the news that matters most.

What else is setting this phone apart from its contemporaries in HTC One family is that it has an expandable memory slot. It doesn’t have Beats audio sound enhancement but has HTC BoomSound technology. This is because of the recent termination of HTC’s deal with Beats audio. And even though it has an Ultrapixel camera like One, it doesn’t have optical image stabilization.

The price of HTC One Max hasn’t been announced yet. However it is going to be available in European and Asian markets by the end of this week itself. To be followed by roll out in USA by the year’s end.
