AppsDaily raises USD 5 Mn from ru-Net, IUVP & Qualcomm
Mumbai based AppsDaily Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has raised USD 5 Mn in Series B funding round led by ru-Net, IUVP & Qualcomm’s venture capital investment arm Qualcomm Ventures.
Previously in 2011, AppsDaily had raised INR 18 Cr in its Series A round and before that it had raised INR 5 Cr in 2010 from the Mumbai Angels.
With the funding, Maria Krajukhina, CFO, ru-Net has joined the company’s board of directors.

AppsDaily is an offline channel for mobile applications; it brings together relevant mobile apps and sells them at retail outlets across India. It develops and markets mobile applications across India and abroad, with this it also focuses on developing and distributing cutting-edge software for mobile phones.
The company has its presence in thousands of retail outlets, across 100+ cities and 18 states in India. The company claims to have sold over 1 Mn products.
The latest round will be used by the company to expand its product offering and retail distribution reach, as well as for talent acquisition.
Gesture control startup RHLvision raises seed round
The funds were raised a few months ago and the funding amount was used by the company for developing a wearable gesture interface.
A few of the products developed by the company includes FIN (Wear the World) – A wearable gadget that brings the digital world closer and lets one interact with the digital world as naturally as possible; TIOT (Touchless Interface for Operation Theatre) – gesture based touch-less display that can be installed inside the operation theaters, it can help the doctors to navigate the patients records eg. scanning previous drug records etc. with the motion of a hand in the air.
RHLvision was founded in 2012 by Rahul Dev, it develops robotic human logic technologies like computer vision and artificial intelligence for intelligent personal computers, touchless and wearable computing, augmented reality, natural user interface.
The company was incubated at Kochi’s Startup Village.
Ineda Systems raises funding from former Motorola chief Sanjay Jha & Lip Bu Tan of Walden
Hyderabad based semiconductor startup Ineda Systems has raised a funding round led by Sanjay Jha, Former Chairman & CEO of Motorola Mobility and Lip-Bu Tan, Founder & Chairman of Walden International. With the investment Sanjay Jha has joined the company’s board as chairman with Tan also joining the board.
According to ET, Walden International which was going to set a USD 100 Mn fund to invest in Indian startups in the semiconductor space, has already identified four startups in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Ineda Systems is engaged in developing chips specifically for wearable devices. It’s a semiconductor startup which develops low power SOC’s for the use in both consumer and enterprise applications. It works in the area of low-power SOC/IP development, architecture and software that is necessary to design silicon and systems that would be of use in future applications.
It has its offices in Hyderabad, India and Santa Clara, USA.
