Foodpanda expands its operations to Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar

FoodpandaRocket Internet backed, online food delivery chain has recently expanded its operations to three cities including Kolkata, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.

Currently its services are available in 10 Indian cities including Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore and Chandigarh.

The company expects an 8-10% increase in business with expansion of operations in Ahmedabad, and a 10-12% increase via expansion of services in Kolkata.

Foodpanda completed one year of its operations in India in May 2013.

When Foodpanda had raised USD 20 Mn in funding earlier this year, in an interaction with Iamwire Amit Kohli had said that a part of the raised capital will be deployed in expansion and marketing of Foodpanda in India and had also mentioned that it will be expanding to 5 more cities.

In India, it has around 2,000 restaurant partners which it intends to grow to 5,000 across 16 cities by the end of the year. A few of the brands under its network in India include Pizza Hut, Subway, Nirula’s, Baskin Robbins, Mast Kalandar, Faasos amongst many others.

FoodPanda with its affiliate brand Hellofood operates in over 28 countries in Latin America, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. It reaches around 3 Bn people and is operating with more than 15,000 restaurants worldwide.
