Bangalore based K2 Learning, an education startup which runs offline classes and also provides online help and content, has raised INR 8 crore in angel funding to develop tablet labs in 100 colleges.
The tablets will have online coursework, games, activities and other data.
The company hasn’t disclosed the identity of the investor. The development was first reported by ET.
K2 learning was founded in 2010, it offers professional commerce courses including Chartered Accountancy, Company Secretary program and IPCC (Integrated Professional Competence Course) and plans to be the one-stop destination of commerce education.
The company offers courses at its centers and via B2B college tie-ups, as classroom coaching and through VSAT. Its also develops digital content which can be made available on tablets, the Internet or on offline CDs, for all commerce curriculum.
It also provides 24×7 online help and doubt-clearing assistance beyond normal class hours for its students.
The company also plans to invest in content development and to acquire similar businesses.
K2 learning is founded by Sripal Jain and currently it is working with a team of 25 professionals.
