Silicon Valley based, Startup accelerator, 500 Startups which recently closed USD 44.1 Mn in its second round, is once again looking to raise USD 100 Mn for its third early stage investment fund, according to an SEC filing by the company.
For its second funding round the company was looking to raise around USD 50 Mn but managed to raise only USD 44.1 Mn which was less than the target, but nonetheless it was a USD 29.6 Mn jump from the first funding it raised. But this time its almost a USD 50 Mn jump.
The new round comes after 3 years of its existence. Making investments in startups across the world, it has invested in around 600 companies across 40 countries throughout this period and has around 30 employees, including the ten who make investments.
TechCrunch states that 500 Startups will be making investments in over 200 companies in the next year and will be increasing the investment pace by about 25% per year.

500 Startups runs an accelerator program twice every year, providing mentorship, bootcamps, and the tools needed by the startups, including providing USD 250K in capital to early-stage companies. The accelerator also runs unique events like SmashSummit, UnSexy, and GeeksOnaPlane.
Currently the accelerator is running its Batch 007.
