Software development firm Kuliza, has recently acquired social app tool Adepto. As a part of the deal, it will now be available for brand marketers as ‘MobiChirp’, as a part of Kuliza’s suite of social and mobile offerings.
Adepto was previously rumoured to be acquired by Bangalore-based Minjar Cloud Solutions.
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed yet.
Adepto, helps in making apps for Facebook and has worked with clients like Kotak Mahindra & Jabong. Its earlier product was known as Trolly, which has now given way to the current product Crowdnub. Crowdnub is a Social Marketing Platform which gives brands customized Apps with the convenience of a SaaS platform, across devices and social platforms.
“As we studied the market and honed Crowdnub, we realized the landscape was changing fast and brands’ social marketing needs would be better served by a more holistic solution. So it made sense to align with Kuliza who was building the other pieces. We are happy Crowdnub has made Kuliza’s MobiChirp offering more robust,” said Kiran Kumar, CEO, Co-founder, Adepto Solutions.
Kiran also mentions that it is a pure tech acquisition and not a talent acquisition.
Launched three years back by Kiran Kumar & Ashok M.S. , Adepto had raised USD 300k in its first round of funding from Blume Ventures and a consortium of angel investors led by Rajiv Dadlani early in 2011. The startup was also a part of Microsoft Accelerator’s second batch.
Based in Bangalore, Kuliza expertise in building web, mobile and social media apps and has recently raised a funding round led by Blume Ventures.
