Axis Rooms, a travel distribution solutions provider raises funds from SeedFund

axisroomsBangalore based AxisRooms Travel Distribution Solutions, which allows hotels to update and share their inventory status with agents and portals in real time has recently raised an undisclosed amount in its first round of funding led by SeedFund. The other terms and details of the deal also remain undisclosed.

AxisRooms basically offers a technology led hotel inventory distribution solution. It manages room availability and pricing in the Booking Engine, thereby reducing the amount of time that Hotel Reservation Managers have to spend managing them.

The AxisRoom’s booking engine is built as a hotel website Booking Engine and contains a host of features that allows a hotel to sell personally to the customer i.e. Loyalty Schemes, Optional Extras, Promotion Codes etc.

So how it works exactly? First, Hotels register on the system, load up and maintain their room pricing and availability. On the other side Travel Agents sign up, are approved and start selling available hotel rooms to their clients.

The company at present offers three key products   – Channel Manager, to manage inventory and pricing with all online travel portals; Booking Engine, to take direct bookings through their own website 24 x7 and Corporate and SME Tools, to manage their own bookings, within the defined parameters of the firm.

According to Anil Kumar, Founder, AxisRooms, “With an increase in independent Hotels and easy accessibility to internet, Indian hotel industry has experienced the power of online booking in the past few years. AxisRooms products are aimed at offering an affordable and efficient solution to the hotels and helping them reach to a larger base of customers across India.”

AxisRooms currently partners with Expedia, Booking.com, Agoda, Makemytrip, TravelGuru, Cleartrip, GoIbibo, Splendia, HotelTravel.com, Travelocity, Hotels4u (a Thomas Cook Group) etc, and has 265 hotel clients using its platform. It aims to increase the number of hotels to 5000 by 2015.

Recently, Online travel company, Yatra.com & Travelguru also partnered with RezNext to provide customers ability to book and get instantaneous confirmation of their bookings directly from the hotels ERP Software.
