After launching it’s Computers and Accessories store last month, Amazon.in has now added a number of new product categories to the website including toys & games, baby products, personal care appliances and health care devices for the Indian Genre. With this, there are now 11 categories available on Amazon.in.
The store is expected to add Home & Kitchen products and few more categories around Diwali.
Amazon.in will be offering around 8500 toys & games from over 80 brands including Lego, Funskool, Hotwheels, Barbie, V-Tech, etc. Whereas the baby product store will be offering around 3000 products including diapers & nappies, health & baby care, strollers, from over 50 brands like Pampers, Huggies, Johnson & Johnson, etc. It will also provide parents with an option of choosing diaper size and count on the diaper product page.
The Personal Care Appliances and Healthcare Devices store has listed more than 1100 products from over 60 leading brands including Philips, Panasonic, Omron, Accu-chek, Remington, among others. Few of the products include shavers, hair dryers and straighteners, blood pressure monitors, blood glucose monitors, weighing scales, etc.
Just like other stores, to help customers choose from a large selection and find products as per their needs, Amazon.in also has provided detailed product information, options to shortlist products by features, customer reviews from Amazon.com and personalized recommendations.
Amazon.in had entered Indian market in June this year primarily with 3 categories i.e. Book, movies and TV shows, few days later it introduced Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite and The Kindle Store and then added electronic items including Mobiles and Accessories, Cameras and Photography, and Portable Media Players.
As per the company, the store now lists around 9 million books, 1.7 million eBooks and more than 70,000 products from hundreds of brands.
