Uber comes to Bangalore, next is New Delhi

Uber-LogoAfter months of speculations, US based private car hire online platform Uber has finally launched its operations in India, starting with Bangalore, stated the latest blogpost by Uber.

Announcement comes just after Uber expanded its operations in China and Dubai.

The service  will be in a “secret testing mode” in Bangalore for few weeks, thus availability will be limited as it will be working to make more cars available and test it’s pricing as well.

According to the job posting, in India now Uber will be looking to expand its operations in New Delhi.

Currently Uber is present in 17 countries i.e. 43 markets.

Uber is a technology driven company, connecting users with licensed, professional drivers and request transportation through its apps and mobile website. No vehicle or driver is owned by the company, instead, it provides on demand services and charges directly from the credit card of the users.

Earlier this month Uber has revamped its website and in its second-quarter earnings report Uber has also announced that it would purchase 2,500 driverless cars from Google.

Uber was launched in 2010 by Travis Kalanick and recently it has raised USD 361.2 million in funding from Google Ventures, TPG & few other others at a valuation of USD 3.5 bn.
