Timescity acquires a restaurant recommendation mobile app Gawbl

Times Internet’s venture Timescity, has acquired the Pune-based restaurant recommendation mobile app Gawbl, states the latest blogposts by both the companies. The terms of the deal has been left undisclosed at the moment.

Post acquisition, Gawbl team will be joining TimesCity’s mobile team. Rather than working independently, the team will now become a part of Timecity and will work on improving its mobile apps.

Gawbl helps users to discover and find restaurants or the places to eat based on their mood. It has developed a unique recommendation engine which understands the user’s mood, location and provides them precise results in a non-listing format.

Timescity provides information about the restaurants, pubs and nightlife establishments in Indian metropolitans and popular cities alongwith listing. It also has a ‘Click to Call’ feature which connects users with the establishment directly. It is currently present in 11 Indian cities including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bangalore and Pune.
