It seems that Just Dial has started analysing and implementing new revenue sources apart from focusing on its listing business. Recently, JustDial made its foray into the ‘Food Delivery service’, as displayed on its website. The development was first reported by Vccircle.
Rather than existing service such as Zomato and others, instead of finding the phone number of the restaurant and ordering food, this new service allows customers to browse through the electronic restaurants’ menus present on the Justdial website and add food items to order from online directly. The site offers different options such as advance order for parties, order history, order summary through sms/email, etc. It also gives the option of ‘ Most ordered items’, to chose from most common and speciality food dishes at the restaurant.
Currently the service is free for the end users, however as per the reports, JustDial will be getting around 5 per cent of the order value as its commission. The service is available 24×7, but night deliveries will be done only by those restaurants which are open through the night.
At present, Justdial Food Ordering Service is available in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Thane, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Howrah Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune.
