Collegefeed, an online personal career assistant service, recently raised $1.8 million in Seed funding from Accel Partners, S-Cubed Capital and other key angel investors. As per the founders, the amount raised will be utilized in developing new features and functionality in the coming months.
“We will use the money to expand our team to build out the product, backend service and expand our employer network. We’ll be announcing some of those new tools for students and employers in September and October as well as expand internationally”, said Sanjeev Agrawal, CEO of Collegefeed.
Launched in private beta at the start of this year and nationwide 3 months back, this California based startup is an initiative of six ex-Google / Microsoft / McKinsey alumni, led by tech duo Sanjeev Agrawal and Aman Khanna. The startup aims at helping the college students and new graduates find their ‘dream Jobs’, at the same time reducing the recruitment cost for the employers.
Wherein employers can use Collegefeed to brand themselves more effectively to students and find the perfect candidate for entry-level positions, new graduates on the other hand can create short profiles to quickly showcase their skills and qualifications in a way that makes them stand out to employers.

Users also get a custom news feed that displays updates on preferred employers and a recommendation tool cCORE to help discover new companies.
At present, students and employers can create a profile for free at the website and can sign up even using their facebook account. However, the platform charges employers a base platform access fee, branding fee and agency service fee for hires made through Collegefeed.
