CCAvenue launches an ecommerce marketplace with BuildaBazaar, Martjack soon to follow

Avenues, which runs Indian payment gateway CCAvenue, alongwith has launched a marketing, distribution and communication marketplace, which will cater to the Indian Merchants looking for more efficient models of customer acquisition and revenue generation.

Just like other marketplaces where the merchants can register and sell their products, will also allow merchants to list their products on its platform and sell it through networking and marketing activities. The website will also take care of all the marketing and branding needs of the merchants through online and offline promotions.

Vishwas Patel, CEO, Avenues, appeared pretty confident about the launch as he said that they will succeed as they are playing on their strengths. “We know the market well, we know the business well and we know the participating stakeholders well. That puts us in a clearly advantageous position in the Indian market,” he added.

The company for now has a display inventory base of over 1.5 crore products, though it will not be stocking any inventory. Also, around 300 sellers are committed to come on board.

There are nine categories listed on the website which include Apparel, Books, Camera, Kids, Home & living, etc. The website also provides option for online recharge of mobile and DTH.

Currently, it will be shipping to 500 cities across country with delivery time being between 3-8 days.

CCAvenue has also partnered with over 50 Indian banks and Dhamaal will offer co-branded marketplace to banks and their customers to transact online.

Also, it is expected that soon Martjack will also be launching new marketplace in the coming time for the Indian genre in association with the Times Group. The store is yet to go live, but iamwire got the first look of Jumboten.

The website allows the users to shop by category, brand & store. There are 12 categories that are available right now, these include clothing, footwear, home & living, beauty & perfumes, mobile & tablets, etc. For products it has tied up with brands like Bata, Asme, Blackberry, Canan, Micromax, etc and the stores that are available include Logizmos, Salt n Pepper, Fashos, Healthadda, Mitashi, etc. It will be shipping products to over 1500 locations across country and also provide 30 days replacement policy alongwith login through Facebook.

Marketplace phenomenon has gained pace in the past few months with large number of players in the same segment including Flipkart, Healthkart, Snapdeal, Jabong, Indiatimes, Tradus, etc. Players with such a vast experience about the online commerce market opting for a marketplace model does proves scope of profitability in the model.

  2. 2 so called a MarketPlace but i am not able to find a Single Seller other than NSI INFINUM which in itself is (sister concern of BuildaBazaar) – whats the use to create another Marketplace…

    Martjack with Times Group seems to be an excellent combination. With Martjack providing the technology, the retailers can leverage TOI subscribers for sales.
