Although the funding was completed two months back, the announcement was made only recently. The deal amount and other terms and conditions are not yet disclosed. Thrill basically aims at leveraging women with the power to find the best male partners in India and provides everyone an opportunity to meet awesome new people. The male applicants need to get an approval from the girls on Thrill in form of getting high number of positive votes. To maintain authentication of profiles and desired levels of safety and quality, the app requires females to login from Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter.
The app is being marketed with the tagline ’He applies, She decides’. After the male user is approved on the app, thrill categorised each profile into “Thrilling”- with decent number of friends, real profile pic, etc. or “Not Thrilling”- married, committed, silly profile pic, etc. This makes the app to match up with the people on similar platform. These matches can be unlocked by simply shaking phone on the “match batch” screen.
Currently, the app is working on a Freemium Model and unlocks 4 free matches for each user. Past that, if users would like to unlock any additional matches they can use their points – which translate to real rupees – to do so. The company is also eyeing other revenue channels such as additional premium features like highlighting yourself, or finding out who found you Thrilling.
Further down the line, the team is looking at brand incorporation into the product where it is a unique way for a brand to grab attention of the youth without jeopardizing the experience of the platform, and providing value to both companies and users. Also, the company is planning to launch iOS version of the app and to add few new features into the app soon.
Thrill was founded in November 2012 by Josh Israel and Devin Serago in Singapore. However, they have moved their base to India and are now looking to set up Headquarters in New Delhi. They are currently working with a team size of 8 along with 6 developers from Bangalore.
