Fashion and lifestyle retailer Myntra has appointed veteran Vikas Ahuja as its new CMO. Vikas has previously worked for Nestle and has 18 years of experience in sales and marketing.
The move highlight the relevance of consumer brand specialists in growing consumer demand for online shopping in India. In his new role Vikas will be taking care of Myntra’s sales and marketing functions and the overall brand strategy at Myntra.
In his last role as the Country Business Manager, he was responsible for setting up new businesses. In Nestle he has led some popular brands like Bar-One, Milky-Bar, Kit-Kat, Munch, Nescafe, Maggi, etc and had a key role in repositioning the MAGGI brand.
Earlier he was a part of management team of egurucool.com as its CMO and was responsible for the startup’s overall marketing strategy, products and communication adding on to his digital experience.
Myntra’s this year plans includes reaching a turnover of over INR 800 crore and investing 8-10 per cent of its total sales in the brand promotion.
Recently the company has disclosed USD 25 million of funding from Tiger Global and Accel Partner with a total of USD 64 mn of funding from Tiger Global, Accel Partners, IndoUS Ventures, and IDG Ventures.Category Ecommerce News Social
