Also with various forms of affiliate marketing platforms coming into play, TheShoppingPro, a Gurgaon based startup has come up with their own form of referral and recommendations browser based plugin trying to ease the shopping experience and make referrals rewarding.
Founded by Ashish Gupta (ex-Tekriti software partner) and Lavesh Bhandari, both IIT Delhi alumni, the browser plugin helps users to find deals and other promotional offers available on several retailers under one window. For example, if a user is looking for a mobile phone, its plugin aggregates information from other online stores and provide the available options.
Currently providing this feature for electronics products only, it will be extended to other categories in few months time. Downloading the plugin is simple and fits easily over a browsing window, without consuming much space.
Claiming to add another intelligence layer in next update, Ashish says that this will help company to study user behavior and preferences. Based on this, the plugin will automatically recommend products, discounts and trends that best fits a user’s interest.
The company also provides a unique referral program that helps users get rewards on every purchase. Which means, if a user shares a product or category with promotional ‘cash-back’ offer on it, he/she will also receive a percentage of cash back offer, if someone else buy the product from that shared link.
Continuously analyzing consumer behaviour, the company could also support merchants with their analytics to help them target their potential buyers. This could also add another source in their current commission-based revenue model.
Within a month of its release, the plugin has over 500 installations. Assisted over 50 transactions worth about a lakh, the company has close to 100 partners including big names like Flipkart, Jabong, Myntra, MakeMyTrip and many more. The plugin works across 250 online retailers in India.
Also launching its own mobile shopping browser in near future, its founders are looking forward to acquire a large segment of online shopping community under its umbrella.
