Professional networking site Linkedin has booked a 74,341 sq ft of office space in Prestige Technology Park in Bangalore to consolidate its existing offices while the rest of it will be used for growth, reported Economic Times.
Currently, Linkedin is headquartered in Mumbai with its two branches in Gurgaon and technology centre in Bangalore. The new office space in Bangalore will house employees across functions, including customer service, engineering, sales and marketing.
Linkedin has around 150 employees in India as on December 2012. The new facility can seat up-to 750 people and will be mostly used for expansion.
Ever since Linkedin has launched operations in India in November 2009, it has grown by almost 500%, as there are around 20 million member accounts from India accounting for 9% of LinkedIn’s global members (225+ million). The country is also the second largest user base of Linkedin after US and has added more than 5 million users in the past 12 months till March 2013.
HCL Technologies, ING Vysya and WABAG are among few companies to use LinkedIn Talent Solutions as its major clients.
The transaction between LinkedIn and Prestige was handled by a property consultant DTZ. Prestige houses companies such as JP Morgan, Quintiles, and Adobe.
