For mobile and Internet startups, here comes another incubation program to raise funding and develop the product under mentorship from industry professionals. Well, not something unusual happening in Indian startup ecosystem nowadays, as now accelerators may also be competing to get startups on board.
iAccelerator, IIM Ahmedabad’s mobile and internet startups incubator is accepting applications for its 2013 batch and is doing a roadshow in Bangalore (27th June), Delhi (6th July) and Mumbai (13th July) to attract the applicants. The roadshow will offer its applicants a chance to meet iAccelerator’s team, its mentors, investors and other portfolio startups. The last date to send applications is July 15.
The three months long bootcamp, starting on September 2 will end on November 30 as its demo day where selected participants would showcase their business plan to attract early stage investors for funding. Selected startups will move to CIIE facilities on the IIM campus and will be provided with infrastructure and business & investment related mentoring between September and November.
In addition to the office space, infrastructure and mentoring support during the program, the selected startups will receive INR 5-10 lakhs in seed funding.
Recently a number of startup discovery platforms and accelerators including NASSCOM’s 10,000 startups program, TLabs, VentureNursury etc have become active in this space and are offering various perks and benefits, enabling young entrepreneurs to engage and discover their passion for long run. Where on one side they offer financial support to startups on the other side they allow them to meet several mentors and industry professionals and develop business knowledge.
