Getit Infomedia plans to reach overseas market

Local search engine platform, Getit Infomedia is in plans to enter overseas market and to begin with, it will be launching its operations in South Asia in next 2-3 months, states Business Line. This announcement comes just after it got approval to receive INR 216 crore foreign investment in the company.

Jaspreet Bindra, CEO, Getit Infomedia said that they see a good potential in the Asian market and also stated that while launching in other countries Getit will be preferring local partners.

Operating in 30 cities across India, Getit is a local search engine platform for businesses and users. It provides services across print, voice, online and mobile platforms.

It competes with other local business search engines like Justdial, Sulekha, etc. With its competitor Justdial, recently getting a successful IPO, Jaspreet Bindra said that Getit Infomedia may also go for an IPO in next 2-3 years.

Getit currently has a database of 6 million businesses and trade firms out of which 1.2 lakh are paid or billing customers. It plans to reach INR 500 crore turnover mark by 2015.

Till now, Getit has raised INR 120 crore in funding by Helion Ventures (INR 20 crore) & Malaysian investor Astro (INR 100 crore). Recently it acquired Infomedia YellowPages and AskMe and has also launched its online marketplace Getit Bazaar.
