Global online food ordering and take-out service Delivery Hero has entered into a strategic partnership with Pune based food delivery site TastyKhana. The company has also invested USD 5 million in the TastyKhana. Prior to this DeliveryHero has invested a seed round in early 2012.
The strategic investment will help TastyKhana to understand global best practices and work towards delivering a better experience for its customers. The company, in its blog, mentioned that the knowledge and support they received from Delivery Hero in the last one-year has helped them to bootstrap their startup to the next level.
It has scaled from 2 cities in 2012 to reach 7 cities with over 3000 restaurants and witnessed 300% increase in order volume rate. “Delivery Hero brings both – financial strength and business expertise to continue the exponential growth,” mentions the company’s official blog.
Over the partnership with TastyKhana, Niklas Östberg, CEO of Delivery Hero said, “The strength in our core markets allows us to invest in smaller, innovative companies like TastyKhana to accompany them with technological know-how and financial resources on their way to the top”
With this investment Tastykhana’s valuation is expected to be around USD 16 – USD 18 million.
TastyKhana was launched in 2007 in Pune by Shachin Bhardwaj and Sheldon D’Souza and has now grown into a multi-city online food delivery network delivering in Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Delhi, Noida and Faridabad.
Foodpanda & Justeat are other such competitors in this segment.
Delivery Hero which was founded in 2010, have raised total of USD 100 million investment in four rounds, and is operating in 12 markets across 4 continents, with headquarters in Berlin.
