After launching its operations in 6 European countries, couponing site Flipit has now entered the Asian markets with the launch of its website in India, first reported by techinasia.
Just like any other online couponing site, Flipit partners with online retailers and offers discounts on various products. The size of the market and the popularity of couponing in India, is the main reason behind Flipit expanding in India. “The amounts of available coupons per shop is unmatched in almost every country over the world. These high volumes are a good test for our website/platform,” said Jochem Vroom, founder, Flipit.
Flipit will be starting its offering in all major Asian markets soon.
In India, Flipit has already partnered with companies like MakeMyTrip, Yebhi, Firstcry, Shopclues and chains such as Dominos Pizza. The portal currently offers around 1,100 working coupons.
For now, Flipit is available only in English in India. Flipit, will be working with freelancers in India, which they believe is a logical and very effective step. It currently has a 10 members team. As 50 percent of the technical work of Flipit (the entire website) was outsourced to India, that’s another reason which urged Flipit to launch in the country.
Flipit will be monetizing through affiliate and performance-based marketing. Jochem believes that the company’s broader e-commerce experience will help them to expand their reach and drive in traffic and new e-shoppers.
“We are not interested in short-term gains, we want to build up a huge global brand,” said Jochem.
Recently, UK-based Cashkaro, offering cash-back for some e-shopping deals has also expanded its operations in India. In India, Flipit will be competing with other couponing sites like Couponation, Couponhut, mycouponcodesindia and more.Category Ecommerce News
