Bharti Airtel ties up with Google to provide free access to Gmail, Search and Google+

Bharti Airtel, in its spree to make its internet services reach a wider audience, have recently made a tie up with Google to provide ‘Free Zone’ portal to its mobile  internet users, reports Business Line. The partnership allows Airtel members to use Google line of products such as Gmail, Google+ and Google search at no data cost till 1 GB per month.

The Airtel mobile consumers can  access the service by visiting and can create a Gmail account instantly on the Free Zone homepage to access Google services. However, the next level services such as attachment download or web browsing will be charged according to the subscribed data package. The users will receive a notification instantly if they leave the free zone to dig more deeper into the website, or other downloadable stuff.

“This gives people easier access to information in a way that benefits everyone, whether it’s an individual or a small business that wants to reach more people on the Web. We hope this initiative will encourage more Indians to experience the value of the Internet and gain from it,” said Rajan Anandan,VP and Managing Director, Google India .

Headquartered in New Delhi, Bharti Airtel Limited is having operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa and had over 269 million customers across its operations at the end of March 2013.
