Ecommerce, News to take on Indian online fashion market soon on its vision to offer vast selection of products is now looking to start a fashion category too as reported by Postnoon referring to a Job Post on Linkedin regarding a key hire for Fashion products imaging.

Amazon launched its marketplace in India on June 5th with books category and within 20 days has launched electronics and Kindle selections showcasing its keen approach to take on ecommerce in India by expanding fast.

It already has been active for various categories on its price comparison engine, which has more than 900 websites integrated and more than 20 million products across 23 categories.

Amit Agarwal, Country Manager, Amazon India has also highlighted how Junglee has helped Amazon to learn about the consumer behaviour in India; about why it is important to focus on adding more selection in a recent interview with Medianama.

So given that robust learning about the Indian market combined with Amazon’s global experience in fashion ecommerce for years, may soon turn out to be a significant competitor in this space in times to come, challenging already existing players such as Flipkart, Myntra, Jabong, Yebhi etc for the category.
