Its been said that the online hospital market was estimated to touch $2 billion (Rs 10,860 crore) by 2015. This valuation have made many startups to bet their future in the health sector.
Here are some such startups which are trying to make a change along with improving awareness in the society with their innovative ideas.

Social Blood is a social network that connects the blood donors and recipients of the same blood type using Facebook as an underlying medium. 3) Healthcaremagic.com: Get answers from Doctors 24×7 within seconds
An initiative of Kunal Sinha, the website was launched with an idea to transform how people approach their health and wellness. This online portal allows the users to have live chat with registered doctors over internet or phone 24×7 and also provides opinions of specialists such as cardiologists, Oncologists, Gynecologists, etc. for a small amount of fees.
“The portal is currently having an added network of 7000 doctors who can answer any query in less than 15 minutes for a fee upwards of Rs 600. While the doctors are paid Rs 100 or more for each query, we keep the rest. The few minutes it takes for a doctor to create his or her profile on our portal is a big incentive as the answer to every query is searchable when other people ask a similar question,” said Kunal Sinha, Founder, healthcaremagic.com.
The company also has tie-ups with three insurance companies Bajaj Allianz, ICICI Lombard and Reliance General Insurance. The person who takes the insurance , by default gets the services of the online portal, with all charges inclusive of the insurance premium.
4) NamasteDoc: Taking appointment with doctors is as easy as booking a movie ticket
Namaste.com provides a 24×7 service to find the nearby doctors and hospitals and book appointments with them from home or at work. It is a free online and telephonic service .
The company is focused on becoming a pan India service provider by 2014 with its first launch being in NCR in April 2012. This service not only helps the patients to find the right doctor, but it also helps the doctors to manage their schedule well. The company has got more than 8000 appointments in 3 months, as posted in a recent tweet.
5) Medecure.com: Making a difference in doctor visiting experience
An initiative of Ketan Raiyani, MedeCure offers an array of offline and online services/product. It is a completely free service where one can ask the registered physicians on the online portal any health-related query, schedule an appointment, get their e-health records, and get consulting advices from top specialists.
