Looks like Times Internet had quietly shut it’s NRI focussed e-retail website Hutk.com, though the message on the website states that it is under maintenance and users can shop from shopping.indiatimes.com, but it’s not clear whether the website will be operational in future or not.
Though as reported by nextbigwhat, Subhanker Sarker, COO, Times Internet stated that there is huge opportunity in the NRI segment but Times Internet want to focus on Indian Ecommerce market.
Hutk was one of the experimental venture of Times internet for understanding NRI market. Though it seems, had failed in order to meet the company’s expectations and that’s why the company has decided to shift its focus directly on the Indian ecommerce segment, rather than on the NRI market. Times Internet is also working with the Fab.com team to explore and execute its India market strategy, for which it had also made a 7 figure investment in the company last year.
Hutk was launched in 2011, offering Ethnic wears, jewelry, handicrafts, etc catering both men and women. It was also offering flower delivery service worldwide. Also providing buyers option to view prices in Rupee, Dollars, Pound Sterlings and Euros as well.
Last year Indiatimes had also shut its email service i.e Indiatimes mail.Category Ecommerce News
