With real estate sector and property buying rapidly gaining pace in the offline, Houseincity.com is a unique online real estate information portal providing single platforms for builders to list, market and sell their projects directly to the buyers.
Based out of one of the upcoming property zone Noida, Houseincity is currently operating in Chennai, Bangalore and some NCR regions.
According to the founders, Arun Choudhary and Lalit Kumar, the search for real estate property on Google gives you 10 different pages, yet with less relevant and older information. This, thus proved as a motivation factor to bring up a venture which could ease the user pains in finding authentic and updated information, and a way to connect directly with the builders to avoid delays caused by chain of brokers.
The site displays features such as price trend of residential projects, comparison of popular localities and also segregates projects on basis of affordability. The projects are displayed with the filter search option on the basis of the Builders, Locality and the Apartment type. The site currently displays information about projects of builders such as Supertech group, Unitech, Jaypee Group and many more.
It provides the feature of map based search, using Openstreetmaps to map all routes and mark all nearby localities on site. Houseincity is the first company to use the concept of Openstreetmaps in India, as claimed by the founders.
“The market is still untapped and offers huge potential for the upcoming players. Having interviewed people who are looking for buying a property, the team find out that their experience was terrible and time consuming. Houseincity will try to ease that pain and provide basic information about property site, so that consumers can shortlist the property according to their requirement.”, said Arun.
Also mentioned by the founders, the builders are keen to get a portal where they can update their information and reach wider masses. They are reaching company on their own to provide accurate data, thus reducing the challenges with the company. Also, as majority of the players in the segment are working on advertisement based and broker dependent business model or buy/rent classifieds, their venture is quite unique and of one and only kind in space at present.
When asked about their revenue model, Arun said that they have not came up with the complete model yet and currently they are not charging any amount from builders. However, they will start charging them latest by June on monthly basis depending on the page views of the builders project on the site. The company is currently not having any aggressive plans to raise funding.
Receiving a decent traction on the site with 1000 clicks daily from google, and an average 4000-5000 pageviews, the company is following a word of mouth approach to reach its consumers. They will soon be expanding to Hyderabad and Pune within next 2-3 weeks and later to Mumbai. Currently, the team is focusing on improving the user experience on the website by adding more features, increasing accessibility and user friendliness.
