Coca-Cola India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coca-Cola USA in a new digital stunt has stepped into ecommerce space in India with its latest online store, Coke2home.com to provide home delivery as reported by ET.
To be pointed out, this is a first of its kind venture by any FMCG company till date in India. Initially the services will be available only in Ahmedabad providing free home delivery at a minimum order of INR 300. Also, same day delivery is available if ordered before 12 noon. Consumers can also make order with their mobiles through m.coke2home.com.
“The objective of this initiative is to take advantage of the rapid growth of e-commerce and provide consumers an added avenue of choosing and ordering our beverages. This is a step which is in keeping with Coca-Cola India’s efforts of being within easy reach of the consumers,” said T Krishnakumar, CEO, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages to ET.
India is the seventh largest growing market for Coca-Cola and currently stands at position 3 after Thumps up and Pepsi. In its recent Q1 FY13 report, Coca-Cola India posted 8% growth in sales in volume terms.
The other digital efforts of Coke includes Coca-Cola facebook page, a collection of stories showing how people around the world have helped Coke in getting better and its Twitter page.
