Coca-Cola India now with its ecommerce presence

Coca-Cola India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coca-Cola USA  in a new digital stunt has stepped into ecommerce space in India with its latest online store, to provide home delivery as reported by ET.

To be pointed out, this is a first of its kind venture by any FMCG company till date in India. Initially the services will be available only in Ahmedabad providing free home delivery at a minimum order of INR 300. Also, same day delivery is available if ordered before 12 noon. “The objective of this initiative is to take advantage of the rapid growth of e-commerce and provide consumers an added avenue of choosing and ordering our beverages. This is a step which is in keeping with Coca-Cola India’s efforts of being within easy reach of the consumers,” said T Krishnakumar, CEO, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages to ET.

India is the seventh largest growing market for Coca-Cola and currently stands at position 3 after Thumps up and Pepsi. In its recent Q1 FY13 report, Coca-Cola India posted 8% growth in sales in volume terms.

The other digital efforts of Coke includes Coca-Cola facebook page, a collection of stories showing how people around the world have helped Coke in getting better and its Twitter page.
