Zipdial raises funds from Jungle Ventures, plans to expand in Asia

Bangalore based Zipdial Mobile Solutions has recently raised an undisclosed amount of investment from Singapore based venture capital firm Jungle Ventures.The funds raised will be allocated for expansion, product development, innovation and expanding team as well.

The decision to include Jungle Ventures in their portfolio of investor shareholders is a strategic move aligned with Zipdial’s plans to expand in the South East Asia region where Jungle Ventures already has a foothold. The intention is to leverage the assets across their portfolio companies to support regional expansion.

Zipdial has previously raised close to $500K USD from 500 Startups for their expansion plans. Prior to that they raised nearly $800K USD from Mumbai Angels and others in 2011 as a series A funding.

Zipdial CEO,Valerie Wagoner believes that there is huge potential in emerging markets like Asia and they will be looking forward for further expansion in there. The company expanded to Caribbean in 2011, and also planned to expand to Bangladesh.

Jungle Ventures, co-founded by Anurag Srivastava and Amit Anand, provides early stage investments and business building infrastructure to startups in Singapore, India and South East Asia and have invested in companies like Doc Doc, eBus.TV, Mobikon and travelmob.

ZipDial is a marketing and analytics platform, which creates a call-to-action and engagement with traditional, real world media using missed calls. Till date, it claims to have 410 million consumer engagements from consumer goods companies like P&G, Disney and Unilever.
