India has a rich market of traditional fashion and lifestyle products. But the problem is that there is a huge gap between the supply and demand of these products. Understanding this problem, ‘Unravel India’ has started an online marketplace which provides traditional fashion and lifestyle products from different regions across India.
Started on 26th January, the company is providing Indian regional arts & crafts products directly from the artisans who are creating these products. As there is no middleman or dealer in their supply chain, it helps the company in maintaining a significant cost margin as well.
These handcrafted products usually come directly from artisans and craftsmen without any standardized rates, thus helping Unravel India to enjoy a complete control of the profitability margins after supply chain costs, said Ashutosh, Supply Relation Manager, Unravel India. With just a few months of its operations, the company has managed to maintain a profitable business.
Unravel India uses Warehousing and Drop Shipping techniques to fulfill the order requests. Logistics partners include- FedEx and Delhivery. As the products generally come from the craftsmen who do not provide any packaging to their product, it has emerged as a big issue for the company. Delhivery handles all their packaging needs. The company has managed to generate a revenue of 2.5 Lakhs so far.
Unravel India was founded by Deepali and Ankita with an initial investment of 5 lakhs. But with their plans to ramping up the business, they have started looking for an outside funding. They are also planning to move to the international markets like US and UK, but nothing has been confirmed yet. With a traffic rate of around 200 unique visitors and 25 registrations each day, they process around 10 orders with the average order size of INR 700-800 daily.Category Ecommerce
