Introducing the concept of family networking, Imlee – a social networking online platform has ventured with the idea to help people bond better with their family. Imlee was launched in February 2012. Being a unique social networking platform, Imlee has managed to acquire more than 34,000 registered users and over 4.5 lakhs user profiles. It is a product of Pebstone – a startup incubator which is backed by Zycus, a provider of Procurement Performance Solutions.
How it works?
It allows its users to make a complete family tree and thus connect with their relatives. One can also invite his/her relatives using Facebook and add their basic information like email, date of birth, etc. The largest family tree that exists on Imlee at the moment has over 3000 members.
The company currently is focusing to expand the user base and enhance its visibility. Being a niche social networking websites, ads could be a major revenue source for Imlee in future.
Currently in beta Imlee is continuously making changes in order to provide a better experience to its users. As far as its marketing strategies are concerned, Imlee has been promoted only through online channels, including various social networking sites. Word of mouth has helped Imlee gain popularity. The major focus of its marketing team is to continuously interact with its users so that relevant features & enhancements are added to the website, added Mansi Seth, Senior Marketing Executive at Imlee.
Where other social networks like Facebook, Google+ etc, provide the facility of social networking without having any defined niche, Imlee has much focused audience and help people connect their family and relatives.
