UCWeb mobile browser terms India as a priority market, holds 25% market share in India

According to the recent reports, UCWeb, the Chinese mobile browser which claims to hold 25% of the market share of mobile browser market in India, terms India as a priority market. In order to gain market penetration in India, according to UCWeb president and co-founder Xiaopeng, the company will be focusing on video and download as a key differentiator. UCWeb entered India in September 2011 and is now termed as the second headquarter of the company.

With its recent release of new versions for Android(v9.0), Java(v9.0) and iPad(v2.0), UCWeb has came up with a new improved interface and various customization features. The new browser is also available in Hindi and Urdu languages. This new version for android can be downloaded from Google play while the Java version is available on UCWeb website.

The following graph shows the top 9 mobileĀ  browsers shared worldwide, as given by StatCounter global Stats report. However, in India the opera is considered to be the best browser second being the UC browser.
