Skoolshop.com raises undisclosed amount of funds from Blume Ventures and angel investors

Mumbai based online retail store for all education related products Skoolshop.com, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Blume ventures and few other angel investors including Sunil Kalra, Srikant Shastri, Vikas Choudhary and Puneet Deora.

Speaking about the investment in Skoolshop, Blume Ventures spokesperson said, “With a diverse country like India, the business can be scaled heavily with a hybrid (online plus offline) model without much of direct competition and that too with passage of time will find ways to work together and optimize.”

Previously, the company also had investment of Ex-Microsoft Executive, Jaspreet Bindra, who is now the CEO of Getit and Rajan Anandan, who is currently the Managing Director of Google India.

Skoolshop is the brand of Occasion Kommerce Pvt. Ltd., it offers all education related products including books, stationary, educational games, tablets, apps, etc, and it has more than 25 categories listed with various sub-categories. It allows the users to shop by brand, category, class, benefit, personality, etc and is shipping products across India.

Skoolshop was founded in 2011 by Satya Raghavan and Anusha Mahalingam both are from Harvard Business School. Satya who is currently the CEO of Skoolshop has over 13 years of work experience across Broadcast Media, FMCG, Internet, Venture Capital & Entrepreneurship and Anusha has over 6 years of work experience across Consumer, Retail, Tech and Healthcare sectors at McKinsey.
