Rock.in goes live in beta, exclusively sells multiple global fashion brands in India

Led by UK based Indian Professional Suraj Sharma as CEO and Aashish Puri as Co-Founder, fashion portal rock.in went live in beta. It catalogs global and Indian collections of apparels and accessories  for women, men and kids and would soon be extending to homeware category too.

The co-founders seem to be utilizing their strong sourcing linkages with fashion brands all over the world and offer a lot of international brands such as Fever London, DKNY, Just Cavalli, La Redoute etc.  The company also holds official licenses and distributor rights for several global brands. It Currently lists 49 Brands and 13k+ Likes on Facebook.

In terms of features and functionalities, the company offers style guides for men and women, besides offering look books (detailing latest celebrity looks and trends) and tips and tricks for fashion conscious consumers.

Talking with iamwire Suraj Sharma, CEO of Rock.in said, “Rock.in is India’s first online store that offers the latest seasonal collections from international brands, and at their original prices. As officially appointed licensees, the majority of brands available at Rock.in are exclusive and cannot be bought anywhere else in India. Our offering to our customer is access to the latest in fashion straight from the runways of Europe direct to your wardrobe.” Aashish Puri, COO & Co-Founder continued “While our collection is a clear differentiator, the customer buying fashion is looking for a different level of service than buying their groceries or buying a DVD. Our aim was to build a company completely focused on fashion from the design of our store, the product, the packaging and the service experience throughout”.

The company offers free delivery and returns within India. For payments, the company has tied-up with EBS for credit/debit card payments along with net banking and cash cards, besides offering payments through American Express as well as COD and live online support.

Earlier iamwire reported rock.in launched as  under Probrand Enterprises Limited which has links with Provogue, as the payment to the site was being done towards the name of Probrand Enterprises Limited. This was soon objected by the Co-Founders of Rock.in who interacting with iamwire.com claimed it a mistake by the Payment Gateway highlighting the fact that inception of Rock.in was done in the premises of Provogue’s office in Mumbai, stating that  “Provogue has absolutely NO interest with our company”.

Updates on the Payment Gateway site now accept the online payments under name Rock.in after the incident.

The company operates in the ever expanding highly competitive market for apparels etailing with many large multi-category players such as Jabong, Fashion & You, multi-channel retailers such as Shoppers Stop as well as niche players such as Shop Nineteen, OutletWise.Com trying to grab a bite of online shoppers community in India or increasing the consumer base by creating more channels and ease of accessibility.  The market for fashion apparels and accessories etailing is set to expand further with a large number of web-exclusive brands as well as original manufacturers set to enter the Indian market in near future.
