Mahesh Bhupathi up for ecommerce rACE

Tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi launches ecommerce portal selling sports equipment and accessories, looking to bring on table his expertise and networks in the sports and fitness industry as a Director of the Company. The other Co-Founders includes Vishal Gupta and Chandra Sekhar. The registered company LiveSports365 e-Retail Pvt Ltd is based out of Bangalore. The business is led by Vishal Gupta as CEO of the company, who has also worked with Larsen &Toubro, Sasken and Telsima, Sloka Technologies and Maverick Wireless in the past.

The online Portal currently lists over 8,000 sports and fitness products with Brands including Yonex, Head, Wilson, Puma, Arena, Prince and more. Portal is based on SaaS and CC- Avenue as the payment gateway with Logistics Partners as Bluedart, Aramex, FedEx & FirstFlight and also COD.

Speaking at the launch, Mahesh Bhupathi, Director said, “this kind of initiative is much needed. Too often, people buy equipment with no proper guidance. Some times the equipment is ill-suited, not-genuine or just low quality. We strive to provide you with the best customer satisfaction and service you with the best of the products.”  He also added, “To be in constant touch with our patrons, we are present on all social media mediums like Facebook and Twitter where they can post their comments and feedback. We would love to interact with our customers on a constant basis and hear from them on how to make this better.”

Sports category is witnessing growing traction in Indian ecommerce with Snapdeal recently launching sports category after acquisition of Other players in the category include,, The market Size  at 2011 end for “Sports and Fitness” Industry in India was at INR 138 billion (Rs 13,800)  and is projected to grow to INR 300 billion (Rs. 30,000) by end of 2015, Growing at a CAGR of 39% as per the company.
